When I wrote the article about the Replica Bob Dylan Hohner Mouth Organ on my Gift Idea Store blog, I've had a craving to see Bob live again, and good news is that he's about to embark on a tour of Minor League Ballparks again, this time with some fine company: , The Bob Dylan Show will also feature Willie Nelson & John Mellencamp, marking just the second time in the past 24 years that these three performers have shared the concert stage! Just Bobby was enough to haul my a$$ out for a night under the stars, but bonus bonus.

The nights promise, again, a fun informal picnic type atmosphere at minor league ballparks across America. There is no baseball game on the day of the show. *Children 14 and under get in free with each adult ticket holder. Showtime is 5:30pm and gates open at 5:00.     Spa Francorchamps Belgium F1 Grand Prix Travel Pics Tips

    With news, just yesterday,  if you believe it, that Spanky, Sparky, and Ernie have finally broken Formula 1 Grand Prix  and made it a thing of (sordid melodramatic childish and most recently downright ridiculous) history, it might be a good time to reflect on some of the destinations the Formula 1 World Championship took us to during it's time as the "pineapple of world motorsports"; some destinations were happy, like Singapore last year, and some not so happy.

    Those of you who have followed my travels at Grand Prix Cities over the past 10 years know that Spa Francorchamps Circuit is one of my least favorite of the places that hosted races - during race weekend, that is. The rest of the time, in Spring say, or early Fall,  I I'm glad to say I've had several oportunities to enjoy another side of Belgium and happily enjoyed the Walloon Region and all the beauty and wellness (and beer) it has to offer.

    But on race weekend, bah, I'd rather mow my neighbour's lawn AND prune his hedges AND walk his dog AND clean his drains (you get the picture), than put up with the abuse a trip to "Spa-Foreigners-don't-stand-a-chance". Only Silverstone was as much a hassle to get to and enjoy,and, this week also, (great week) Silverstone has become a thing of history (same type as above) since news came that Donington Park Won the Right to Host the British F1 GP. If there ever is another (British F1 Grand Prix) Hooray hooray horay! HOO-Yay! Still....

    Those of you still brave enough to head to Spa Francorchamps Belgium for perhaps the last Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix on August 30 might want to take a second look at my Spa Travel guide (link above), which now features extended fan reviews of their experience, and hard won travel tips for the Spa Circuit and it's famous Eau Rouge, and infamous Belgian hospitality.

    On my Spa Francorchamps Belgium page I've recently added a report by Eric Alchowiak out of Springfield, Virginia, who writes about his expeiences of getting to and from the track, adds examples of more outrageous Belgian antics with foreigners, the disappearing shuttle bus, for example, and other travel information that, being forewarned of, might make your Belgium Grand Prix Trip a little less stressful.

    midohiofront Here are dates for the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course 2009 Schedule of Racing and events. Sadly, Champ Car is no more, (these were wonderful weekends, an up close and personal treat for any motorsports fan). However the location, and the track, the good folks, and the roar of ALMS and AMA Superbikes, and Vintage Motorbikes rings across the hilly terrain at Lexington OH. If you find yourself anywhere within 7,000 miles of this great circuit, make plans to head in that direction for a weekend of "real" motorsports (and serious drinking).     Donington Park wins British F1 GP 2010-2026

    doningtongrandprixcitiesFurther my blog rumour report of almost a year ago, Happy Camping - Donington Park wins British F1 GP 2010, today, just a week before the FINAL GP at Silverstone Circuit, it was officially announced that Donington Park Circuit in Derby UK has secured a contract to host the the great race for a 17 year period begining 2010. Hooray!

    What a boon for the British Sports Tourism Industry. WIth an airport near by, East Midlands, easy access and beautiful Nottingham just a stone's throw away, and Robin Hood's old stamping ground providing the surrounds, I'm positive certain many many more international tourists will be tempted to enjoy a day (perhaps even a civilized weekend) at the races. For motorsport campers there is much to celebrate as well. Finally modern Formula 1 fans will see what MotoGP and World Superbike fans have known for years and have the opportunity to view the world class Donington Grand Prix Collection Motorsports Museum (pic)  at the track entry. Donington Rocks!

    As for Silverstone, animal activists rejoice, the sheep can have their paddock back, and jolly old England is about 27 steps closer to becoming an egalitarian society.
